Hey Folks,

Welcome to another edition of Life Ingredients, the newsletter where I share a workout, a healthy recipe, and a piece of motivational advice.

Let’s jump right in as we always do, with a great workout!

In the middle of summer, it’s nice to wear short sleeve or sleeveless T-shirts to keep cool, and if you’re going to be revealing a little bit more, well, why not show off? Ladies, I know you want toned arms and men, the bigger the better, right? This month, my trainer Steve Wrona cooked up a workout that will absolutely cook your arms, and leave them pumped and primed for summer.

Click the video below to have Steve walk you through it.

There’s a time and a place for the big barbecue blowout where you indulge in a nice fatty cheeseburger, a couple of hearty sides, a cold brew or two, and maybe a dessert. I hope you always enjoy one on the big warm weather holidays like Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, and everyone’s favorite, Midsommar (Have you seen this movie? You should see it) But if you’re enjoying a blowout every weekend, well, the next thing you’re bound to blow out is your current pant size, followed by your blood pressure and cholesterol levels. But around here, we know that we can enjoy a good cookout and stay in fighting shape by making just a couple of

smarter choices most of the time. And while old fashioned grilled chicken may not inspire much excitement, a little bit of love goes a long way. Exhibit A is my Peach BBQ Chicken, which is sweet, savory, and ready in a flash. I think you’ll love the unique flavor combination, the friendly macro profile, and how even a generous helping won’t send you to the couch for a nap.

MAKE IT CONTINUED…sauce. Allow chicken to cook for another 5 minutes and

flip again coat with more peach BBQ.

5) Cook chicken for another 2 minutes on each side, or if you have a thermometer bring chicken to an internal temperature of 165 degrees.

We’ve hit a patch of hot, muggy weather in much of the country, and while the sun worshippers among us can’t get enough, I know there are at least as many, if not more, out there who feel beaten down and sluggish as the mercury starts to climb. It’s counterintuitive, too; everyone’s heard of the winter blues, sure. But the summer blues? Well, it can happen, and this is my space to tell you it’s OK if it happens to you.

See, it’s perfectly fine to get knocked down, but how long you stay down is up to you. When I’m in a funk like that, I like to remember this quote from the Chinese philosopher Confucius, “It does not matter how slowly you go, as long as you do not stop.”

So, my friends, with that, I will just say to keep on keepin’ on until next time.

And as always, remember the words I live by:

NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE.
